Meet Pastor Chuck
I grew up in the Baptist church in the Chicago suburbs. Through some prodigal years in college and prodding by the Holy Spirit, my “conversion” to Lutheranism happened at Christikon Camp in Montana. Soon I was serving as a youth minister and was on to seminary. Although, I never intended to be pastor, it has been a surprisingly good fit and joyful blessing. Elizabeth, my wife, is a middle school teacher and our two children are Caroline (17) and Mark (16). I have been a pastor since 1993 and have served Peninsula since 2016. From the bible, my favorite story is the Prodigal Son and my favorite character is Jonah because they speak so personally to me. Life in the church is rhythmic, messy, and magnificent. Yet, it is precisely the place God invites us to experience grace. Outside church, I delight in spending time with my family, planning my next pilgrimage, exploring local microbreweries with friends, staying active at the Y, and reading biographies.
