Community/global involvement

  • The Mission Outreach Team of Peninsula Lutheran Church exists to educate, communicate, and at times facilitate our members regarding opportunities to meet spiritual and physical needs on local, regional, and global levels. This is done by sharing prayer needs, creating excitement around mission opportunities, encouraging participation in mission events, connecting the congregation with ongoing mission ministries, distributing Mission Outreach funds appropriately and communicating to the congregation information about ongoing missions

  • Food Backpacks 4 Kids is a unique effort to meet the needs of hungry, food-insecure school children in the Peninsula School District. This program is a community effort to ensure that those students and their families who need food on the weekends have access to nutritious and easy-to-prepare meals. Though not specifically a Peninsula Lutheran Church ministry, providing space for packing more than 100 backpacks each week in the PLC Parish House, this is an example of community outreach through our stewardship support.

  • women and their families

Peninsula Lutheran Church continues to affirm God's Love and Grace by "raising up" in faith, Action and Prayer the incarcerated women who reside at Mission Creek in Belfair, Washington Corrections Center in Gig Harbor and men at Washington Corrections Center in Shelton.

A goal is to grow support for individuals and families in community reentry.
